New York Fashion Week 2013 has officially kicked off today! While I am in anticipation to see my favorite designer’s creative works, I have found that the style on the street can be just as exciting. The trendsetters attending the shows wore chic interpretations of "modern vintage". Bright colored fabrics and unique patterns were just a few things used to personalize their look. The accessory of choice for many was the frame hand bag. This adornment originally became popular in the mid-twentieth century (1940-1960). Fortunately, the style has reemerged and will continue to accent femininity.

Emerald City

Thinking of going green this season? Well, you will definitely have the opportunity to. Pantone introduced Emerald as being the color of the year, so it is imperative that you try it out. Traditionally we think of this hue as being classic and majestic but the representatives on this panel have described it to be otherwise. “Lively. Radiant. Lush. ” are a just a few words they related to this stunning shade of green. With a new youthful spin on this, there are lots of ways you can incorporate it into your autumn wardrobe.

Since Emerald is a color that complements every complexion, your possibilities will be endless. However, if you are not a person who would be comfortable wearing this from head to toe, accessories are a great alternative.
